What is the difference between DTF heat transfer and dye-sublimation, and which one should I choose?
The two methods are suitable for different types of fabric:
Sublimation transfer is suitable for synthetic fabrics such as polyester; the dye penetrates the fibers to color the fabric, resulting in a very soft feel. However, the transfer effect is poor on 100% cotton fabrics, and color reproduction on dark backgrounds is also limited;
With DTF heat transfer, the design is first printed onto a transfer film, coated with heat-melt powder, dried, and then heat-pressed onto the fabric. Because it uses white ink as a base, it works well on 100% cotton, blended fabrics, and dark-colored garments, producing vibrant designs.
Choose DTF for 100% cotton or dark-colored garments; choose sublimation for polyester sportswear and light-colored fabrics. We have equipment for both processes and can provide recommendations based on your order specifications.
Please send us the fabric type, width, production capacity, and design requirements, and our engineers will provide tailored recommendations based on the equipment configuration.
