Case Study: Delivery and Process Commissioning of a Fabric Laser Cutter

This customer’s products consist primarily of irregularly shaped parts made from synthetic fiber fabrics. Traditional cutting tools result in rough edges and rely on manual labor for precision, so the customer hopes to improve cutting accuracy and production efficiency.
Project Requirements
- Cutting irregular contours with high precision requirements;
- The edges of synthetic fiber fabric cuts require finishing to prevent fraying and loose fibers;
- High-mix, low-volume production requiring rapid pattern changeovers;
- Desire to reduce manual trimming processes.
Solution and Validation
Taking into account the fabric characteristics and cutting precision requirements, we recommended a Fabric Laser Cutting Machine configuration. We conducted sample testing on the customer’s primary fabrics and patterns to verify cutting results, speed parameters, and edge quality before finalizing the machine configuration.
Delivery and Commissioning
After the equipment arrived on-site, we completed installation and commissioning. We optimized parameters and provided nesting recommendations for the customer’s high-volume patterns. Operator training covered pattern import, parameter adjustment, and daily maintenance, enabling operators to independently complete job changeovers.
Delivery Results
After the equipment was put into production, cutting accuracy and consistency improved significantly compared to the original process. Edge treatment eliminated the need for subsequent manual trimming, and switching between multiple product varieties became more flexible.
