How do I choose between a vibrating blade and a laser?
A vibrating knife uses cold cutting, relying on the high-frequency vibration of the blade to cut through materials without creating a heat-affected zone. It is suitable for heat-sensitive materials or those that cannot have carbonized edges, such as composite materials, leather, TPU, certain coated fabrics, and high-end automotive interior materials.
Laser cutting is a thermal process that offers high speed, narrow kerfs, and automatic edge sealing, making it suitable for synthetic fiber fabrics and batch processing. Since these two processes address different challenges, it is common for a single factory to be equipped with both. Bring your material in for a test cut, and you’ll see right away which method is best suited for your needs.
